Hola amigos!  It’s been a while since we’ve written, so I wanted to bring you up to date on what we’ve been doing and what’s ahead.  We’ll soon be heading west to Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri to visit their oldest bars.  So keep an eye out for upcoming stories about our trip.  They will be states 43, 44, and 45 on our quest to visit the oldest bar in every state.

Recently, we did a day trip up to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to celebrate Yolie’s birthday.  We went to Amish country, and specifically to the Sight & Sound Theater, to see their production of Joshua.  If you haven’t experienced a show at Sight & Sound, we highly recommend that you do!

Before catching the show we stopped off for lunch and some libations at Bespoke Brewing.  The food there was great and we had a wonderful time with Marlena behind the bar.  They had a nice selection of beers that we enjoyed sampling, and Marlena’s infectious smile and sparkling personality made the time fly by.  Luckily, the day we visited was a religious holiday, so the Amish families were out in force, traveling the roads in their traditional horse and buggies.

We had to finally take our leave from Marlena and Bespoke Brewing to see the show.  As always, it did not disappoint!  We look forward to returning to Lancaster to see their next performance of Jonah and the Whale.  In the meantime, we’ll soon be back on the road visiting America’s great old bars.
